[2:27 p.m.]Mikoto: We will continue to monitor the situation from here. Should the D.A.M.'s be in need of fine-tuning, however, we may have to call on you again.

[2:27 p.m.]Lilja: Sensors indicate faint traces of aether drifting toward the designated location, and the energy signature is growing stronger. Before long, we'll have made a brand-new current leading straight to the outpost!

에테르 수맥을 찾기 위한 설치를 끝내고, 평화로운 듯 했지만...갑작스럽게 미코토는 또다시 초월하는 힘이 발동되어 미래를 보게 된다.

미코토가 처음에 본 미코토를 외치는 목소리는 시드의 것이었으며, 브와기/시드/미코토가 제국 비공정의 습격을 받아 떨어지게 된 것.

[2:32 p.m.]Lilja: Ah, speaking of getting to work, I think Bajsaljen was asking after you. Probably wants to talk strategy before their next mission.

[2:33 p.m.]Bajsaljen: It is my belief that we must first establish a rule of law, where those convicted of crimes may be given due process. In the case of imperial captives, an exchange of prisoners should be considered a viable alternative.

[2:34 p.m.]Bajsaljen: I do not deny that the crimes she has committed are grave indeed. Yet the fact remains, Misija was a soldier, working under the orders of Gabranth and the IVth Legion. I am hesitant to carry out so harsh a judgment when it is her superiors who should be held accountable.

[2:34 p.m.]Bajsaljen: But such is the nature of war... Soldiers forced to perform terrible, terrible deeds at the behest of a select few. As commander, I know all too well the weight my orders carry. The day may come that I am made to answer for the acts committed in my name.

[2:34 p.m.]Bajsaljen: But today, it is Misija who stands accused. Gabranth has yet to be brought before us, and the people demand justice be served, one way or another.

[2:36 p.m.]Dmitar: If you are ready, I've been asked to escort you to our newest encampment.

[2:36 p.m.]Dmitar: I would also strongly advise you to attune to the aetheryte here if you have yet to do so. Now if you'll follow me, the camp is due west of here.

[3:09 p.m.]Mikoto: The Resistance is preparing to secure a new outpost. After an analysis of the area, however, I regret to say there is nowhere near enough residual aether to power the barrier. [3:09 p.m.]Mikoto: To make matters worse, its rather awkward location requires us to redirect multiple currents to sustain a sufficient flow of energy.

[3:09 p.m.]Lilja: That's where these beauties come in─the defluxion aether manipulators, Mark II and Mark III! What sets them apart from the first model, you may ask...? Well, apart from the name, not a lot, but they are newer, if that counts for anything!

[3:09 p.m.]Mikoto: Though we both wish we could go with you, I fear we would only slow you down. Please, be safe out there.

[3:14 p.m.]Mikoto: Welcome back. Our sensors detect steady streams of aether flowing toward the site of the new outpost. [3:14 p.m.]Mikoto: Now it is up to the Resistance to drive away the imperials. Once they have, a substantial confluence of energy should be available to power a new barrier.

[3:14 p.m.]Lilja: Well, everything seems to be under control here, so I'd better get going. [3:14 p.m.]Lilja: Oh, right. Mikoto's gathered some promising data to help the chief deal with the Dalriada. [3:14 p.m.]Mikoto: It pertains to my findings on the inner workings of the crystal foci. I believe it may be of use to him.

[3:14 p.m.]Lilja: The chief said he'd be heading back to Doma after finishing maintenance on Seiryu's Wall. Rather than drag him all the way back here, it seems quicker if I take the data to him myself. But don't worry─I'll be back before you know it.

[3:14 p.m.]Lilja: Ah, before I go... Mikoto. Is there anything else you'd like me to pass on to Cid? [3:15 p.m.]Lilja: It's not good to keep your emotions bottled up like that, you know. Why don't you tell him how you feel? [3:15 p.m.]Mikoto: How I f─ <gasp> Lilja! That is wholly and utterly unprofessional! I-I would never... He would never! And even if we did, we... This is neither the time nor the place to discuss such matters!

[3:15 p.m.]Lilja: I think it is. I've seen far too many people live to regret words left unspoken. [3:15 p.m.]Lilja: Just think on it, will you? And try not to miss me while I'm away!

미코토는 무언가 말하고 싶은게 있는 눈치고, 그것을 시드에 대한 사랑으로(...) 착각한 릴리야는 미코토에게 시드에게 전할 말이 없는지 다시 한 번 질문한다. 끝내 부인하는 미코토를 향해 말하지 못해 후회하는 사람들을 너무 많이 봤다며 떠나는 릴리야.

[3:16 p.m.]Mikoto: To tell the truth, since entering the Studium, my life has had but one singular purpose─the pursuit of knowledge. Yet for all my research and scholarly works, I never learned what it truly means to live. [3:16 p.m.]Mikoto: At least, that is what Moenbryda would tell me. She would often admonish me, always insisting I spend time with the other students, or at the very least step away from my dusty tomes for some fresh air.

[3:16 p.m.]Mikoto: Perhaps she hoped I might find someone I cherished more than my books, though sadly she never had the chance to see it. [3:16 p.m.]Mikoto: Cid is truly a remarkable man, and I'll not deny our shared interest in the sciences. During the short time we've worked together, we've become good friends.

[3:16 p.m.]Mikoto: And as his friend, I understand the great burdens of his mind. Even now, he struggles to break free from his ties to the Empire and his father's terrible legacy... [3:16 p.m.]Mikoto: Which is why I wish to do all within my power to support him. As a friend, mind you. My feelings toward Cid are similar to those I felt for Moenbryda─respect and admiration.

[3:16 p.m.]Mikoto: As much as I hate to disappoint Lilja, that is the way of things. So please, don't read too deeply into it.

샬레이안에 입학한 이후 지식만을 목적으로 한 미코토는 결코 삶의 진정한 의미에 대해 탐구할 수 없었고, 문브뤼다는 도서관에 처박혀 있지 말고 밖에 나가서 친구들을 사귀고 햇빛을 쬐라고 조언했다. 문브뤼다는 미코토가 책보다 소중한 가치를 얻길 바랐던 것. 시드는 좋은 친구라며, 문브뤼다에 대한 감정과 비슷하다고 말한다. 존경과 찬사.

[3:17 p.m.]Gerolt: Nothin' to be embarrassed about, lass. All romances have to start somewhere, and I agree the two o' ye make a good match. [3:17 p.m.]Gerolt: But you need to act quick. Even I can see the man's a fine glass of ale, and I reckon it won't be long afore some pretty thing snatches him up to take a swig.

[3:18 p.m.]Lyon rem Helsos: You can't be serious! It's been ages since the damn thing was excavated. Have the engineers been sitting around with their thumbs up their arses all this time!?

[3:18 p.m.]Menenius sas Lanatus: Far from it. Given that this is unexplored territory, we must proceed with caution. [3:18 p.m.]Lyon rem Helsos: Tell that to the Resistance soldiers a stone's throw from our bloody front door. It won't be long before they tear it down. [3:18 p.m.]Lyon rem Helsos: Why not withdraw to Dalmasca? Surely they can finish their modifications on the way back?

알라그의 유물(성검?)의 발굴에 관해 이야기하는 라이언과 메네니우스. 아직도 성검에 대한 작업이 덜 끝났나며 적군이 우리 바로 코앞에 있으니 달마스카로 퇴각하자는 라이언. 메네니우스는 우리가 보즈야를 점령하기 위해 어떤 노력을 쏟아부었는지 잊은 건 아니냐며 반박한다. 또한, 카스트룸 메리디아눔(가이우스-산크레드-가 흑성석 사비크로 알테마 웨폰을 소환했다가 망해서 카스트룸 째로 사라짐)을 잊었냐며 알라그의 유물에는 조심스럽게 접근해야 한다고 주장한다.

[3:18 p.m.]Menenius sas Lanatus: Withdraw? You would abandon everything we have labored for here in Bozja? And that is not all we stand to lose... Surely, you have not forgotten the events of Castrum Meridianum? [3:18 p.m.]Lyon rem Helsos: I only know what I've heard, that Gaius's pet ended up biting the hand that fed it before turning the place upside down.

[3:18 p.m.]Menenius sas Lanatus: Not quite the wording used in the reports, but accurate enough... Knowing his plans would soon be thwarted, he deployed an anti-eikon warmachina in a final attempt to drive back the Eorzean forces. He could not contain its power, and because of his hubris, the castrum was wiped off the map.

[3:18 p.m.]Menenius sas Lanatus: In short, the relics of the Allagans are not to be trifled with. It takes but one mistake for our plans to fall to ruin.

[3:18 p.m.]Lyon rem Helsos: And yet Sicinius has seen fit to scurry off to some far-flung hole when he's needed most. This was his scheme, not ours. He should be the one overseeing all this.

[3:18 p.m.]Menenius sas Lanatus: ...Perhaps you should put this pent-up frustration of yours to use outside. After all, in light of Misija's recent failure, it now falls to us to rout the Resistance. [3:19 p.m.]Lyon rem Helsos: Really? You're asking me to go out there? Hah, it's about damn time! [3:19 p.m.]Menenius sas Lanatus: Hmph. Somehow I knew you would relish the opportunity to get your hands dirty.

[3:19 p.m.]Lyon rem Helsos: Oh, I assure you they'll be absolutely filthy by the time I return.

[3:19 p.m.]Mikoto: It seems the Resistance already has their sights set on another potential outpost site. I can only hope they secure the location without heavy losses.

A New Playing Field

[12:34 a.m.]Marsak: Blade 이름. We have at last determined the whereabouts of the IVth Legion's remaining installation here in Bozja. Our scouts reported sightings of their forces rallying at Zadnor to the north, which seems to indicate that Castrum Lacus Litore has been abandoned.

[12:34 a.m.]Marsak: We deployed our vanguard to advance on the enemy stronghold, but the way is barred by a fleet of warships. [12:34 a.m.]Marsak: Now that Queen Gunnhildr no longer poses a threat, Bajsaljen intends to deploy the troops previously held in reserve. We will be joining them in Zadnor shortly.

[12:35 a.m.]Marsak: Our first port of call is Camp Vrdelnis. When you are ready, Sjeros will escort you there.

적의 거점을 향해 진격하기 위해 자트노르 고원으로 모이는 저항군. 더 이상 군힐드 여왕을 걱정할 필요가 없으므로, 이에 대비했던 예비군들 역시 자트노르 고원으로 결집한다고 한다.

[12:36 a.m.]Bajsaljen: A great many of our troops have already left for Zadnor, and I intend to join them ere long. I hope to see you there as well, Blade 이름.

[12:37 a.m.]Mikoto: You will be leaving to Zadnor soon, yes? Rest assured I too will be along soon. I've not much to contribute to the fighting, but I believe my counsel may still be of some use.   

[12:37 a.m.]Lilja: Be careful when you get to Zadnor, 이름. With that fleet of ships looming overhead, it won't be just the troops on the ground you have to watch out for.

[12:37 a.m.]Lilja: The outpost at Camp Vrdelnis is safe, at least, thanks to the chief. He can tell you more about it when you've arrived. 

[12:37 a.m.]Rostik: Curious that the IVth Legion would amass such a fleet and yet choose to retreat rather than attack. By all accounts they do not intend to fall back to Dalmasca, so what is it they are after, I wonder?

[12:38 a.m.]Sjeros: I've been expecting you, Blade 이름. If your preparations are complete, let us depart for Camp Vrdelnis.

자트노르 고원 진입 후 바이샤엔과 대화

[12:39 a.m.]Bajsaljen: Thank you for coming. I understand this is your first time in Zadnor, yes? Even before the IVth Legion relocated here from Castrum Lacus Litore, it was hardly the most hospitable of places.

[12:39 a.m.]Bajsaljen: To see it now, one can scarcely believe it was once a rich and fertile land. Sadly, it was not spared the ravages of the Fourth Umbral Calamity.

[12:39 a.m.]Bajsaljen: In the wake of the disaster, this plateau became rich in earth-aspected crystals. Miners were keen to seize the opportunity, and they quickly exhausted the supply of this valuable resource. As the settlers had no other reason to continue living in such harsh environs, the region eventually became uninhabited.

[12:40 a.m.]Bajsaljen: Until the imperials decided to establish an outpost here, that is. Just when we thought ourselves prepared for their next assault, they usher in a fleet of ships from Dalmasca led by the Dalriada. It has yet to move since dropping anchor.

[12:40 a.m.]Bajsaljen: There is no denying the strategical advantage of their present location, but we are not yet convinced it is fit to serve as a new base of operations. [12:40 a.m.]Bajsaljen: Regardless, rather than speculate over the imperials' schemes, we must take decisive action. Now is the time to deliver the final blow to the IVth Legion.

[12:40 a.m.]Bajsaljen: If we are to succeed, we will first need to deal with the warships stymieing our attempts to advance.

[12:40 a.m.]Familiar Voice: Well, it's a good thing you have us to help with that.

[12:40 a.m.]Cid: See those floating rock formations? One might think them a result of the Fourth Umbral Calamity, but they were actually caused by the Bozja incident.

[12:40 a.m.]Cid: When Dalamud struck the citadel, vast quantities of energy permeated the site, likely carried to every corner of Bozja via aether currents. Certain regions were affected more severely than others, and, well...the results are self-explanatory.

[12:40 a.m.]Cid: Thankfully, we've managed to tap into that energy to erect a barrier to protect from aerial strikes, much like Seiryu's Wall.

[12:41 a.m.]Bajsaljen: As you can see, the barrier only extends to the boundaries of this encampment, but it should keep us safe for the time being. Words can ill express my gratitude to Cid for all he has done for us. [12:41 a.m.]Cid: I can't take all the credit. This wouldn't have been possible without the equipment supplied to us by the Dalmascan resistance.

[12:42 a.m.]Cid: What's more, the idea to use the land's residual energy came from Lilja, one of my newest engineers. So you see, it was a collaborative effort.

[12:42 a.m.]Cid: But as you said, the barrier can only cover so much ground. If the Dalriada decides to do more than loom ominously in the distance, our troops on the front line won't stand a chance.

[12:42 a.m.]Bwagi: If only it were a matter of combating their fleet with one of our own. As things stand, the Eastern alliance is in no position to lend us any of their ships, and the Bozjans have next to none in the first place. [12:42 a.m.]Lilja: We may not have a fleet, but we do have an abundance of residual aether at our disposal.

[12:42 a.m.]Lilja: If only there was someone who could help us. Perhaps a world-class engineer and master of innovation or some such... <cough> <cough> [12:42 a.m.]Cid: And pray tell, where might we find one of those?

[12:42 a.m.]Cid: Yes, yes, point taken. After all, I can't have newcomers like you stealing my thunder. I'll see if I can turn that idea of yours into a workable solution.

[12:43 a.m.]Bajsaljen: We would be lost without the aid of Garlond Ironworks and the Eastern alliance. Their goodwill must be repaid with naught less than victory.

[12:43 a.m.]Bajsaljen: Lilja has been asking after you, Blade 이름. I believe she wished to discuss another survey of the land with you.

[12:43 a.m.]Bajsaljen: If you have naught else to discuss with me, I will not keep you.

>Tell me about Zadnor.

[12:43 a.m.]Bajsaljen: Zadnor, yes. The “sinking plateau” in our mother tongue. It lies to the northeast of the southern front, not far from the territories of Dalmasca. [12:43 a.m.]Bajsaljen: A gentle rolling plain, once upon a time. Until the Fourth Umbral Calamity, that is. The great quake would mold the landscape into the various flat-topped mountains we know now as Zadnor.

[12:43 a.m.]Bajsaljen: The land was also enriched with a vast store of earth-aspected crystals. When first discovered, miners and prospectors wasted no time in establishing a bustling mining industry. [12:44 a.m.]Bajsaljen: Unfortunately those reserves of earth crystals would not last. The mines ran dry some hundred years ago. All that remains now is barren wasteland.

[12:44 a.m.]Bajsaljen: It is worth noting, however, the floating rock formations are not a result of the Calamity, but the Bozja incident. The energies that wiped the citadel off the map were absorbed into the ground, causing portions of it to rise up into the sky. [12:44 a.m.]Bajsaljen: What's more, this upheaval of the land has exposed a number of Allagan ruins. The gods only know what the IVth Legion intends to find within them.

>Tell me about Camp Vrdelnis.

[12:44 a.m.]Bajsaljen: Vrdelnis was originally a small settlement founded by miners come to seek their fortune. Who would have thought it might also serve as shelter in our search for freedom? [12:44 a.m.]Bajsaljen: It was so named for the flowers that once bloomed in abundance in these lands. Sadly, they would never grow again after the Bozja incident.

[12:49 a.m.]Lilja: I'm told the mages performed rather complicated rites to do it, but it basically boiled down to enchanting crystals with protection spells.

[12:49 a.m.]Lilja: Of course, the greater the area covered, the more crystals they required. What's more, in a case such as ours, a veritable army of mages chanting incantations around the clock would be required. [12:49 a.m.]Lilja: The Dalmascan resistance thought magitek might be able to replicate the effect, and so they called on the chief to hopefully work something out.

[12:50 a.m.]Lilja: The first thing that came to mind was Seiryu's Wall in the Burn: a device that could erect a barrier over a given space using the ambient aether flowing in the ground beneath it. [12:50 a.m.]Lilja: It was agreed that Bozja had the more pressing need, and so the chief brought his new shielding technology here first. It's on a much smaller scale than Seiryu's Wall, mind, but it certainly does the job.

[12:50 a.m.]Lilja: It's a wonder we didn't need them when we first came to the southern front. You'd be surprised at how many aether currents are either too small to be of use, or too fragmented to carry a steady stream of aether.
